The EGR 240 is a UK core course covering:
- Basic concepts of energy and power, including types of energy, conversion of energy and conservation of energy
- The current mix of energy sources around the world, including coal, natural gas, oil, nuclear, solar, wind, geothermal, hydro and biomass
- Effects of energy on different communities, nations and regions and identify the global inequalities that exist with respect to energy across the world
- Enrolment is higher than 200 students per year
Course is offered throughout the year:
- In the fall on UK Campus
- In the spring on UK Campus and with a section that includes a one-week trip to Costa Rica
- In the summer in Germany in conjunction with the most prestigious Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
