NOW HIRING: Construction Engineering and Project Management Position

The Department of Civil Engineering in the UK College of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level with a start date of August 1, 2019.

The Department of Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2019. We are interested in a wide variety of research emphases in the area of construction engineering and project management. The successful candidate will complement existing departmental strengths in infrastructure project development, workforce development, and construction safety. The construction engineering and project management group also operates an active research program within the Kentucky Transportation Center. Further, there are excellent opportunities for interaction with researchers in the Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research and Traci Farmer Institute for Sustainability and the Environment

Candidates must have a PhD in civil engineering or a related field at the time of appointment. Evidence of an ability to obtain extramural grant support and/or some teaching experience is preferred. Responsibilities for the successful candidates include establishment of an independent research program that is supported by awards from extramural agencies, contribution to the teaching mission of the undergraduate program, teaching and mentoring for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and service for the department, university, and profession. Preference will be given to individuals with relevant construction industry experience. State law requires faculty members teaching engineering design courses to become licensed as Professional Engineers in Kentucky within four years of appointment.
