Nelson Akafuah Spoke at FAME Live!

Nelson Akafuah, chair of the Department of Engineering, spoke at FAME Live! an event organized by The Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) and The Manufacturing Institute to provide interested companies, schools and regions a chance to see FAME’s program “live” and speak with students, employers and faculty who are living FAME every day.

Akafuah spoke about career pathways created by engaging K-12 schools with FAME and Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) programs to help students reach their fullest potential.

FAME was created by Toyota and is now run by The Manufacturing Institute, it is the premiere skilled technician education and development model. FAME provides a sustainable and globally competitive pipeline of highly capable and professional talent that can meet the unique needs and challenges facing manufacturing companies through the Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program.
