Foster Wins Outstanding Senior Award, Will Speak at Spring Commencement

Elizabeth Foster, a senior majoring in electrical engineering, has received an Otis Singletary Outstanding Senior Award and will be one of the speakers at next month's Commencement ceremonies.

Elizabeth Foster, a senior majoring in electrical engineering, has received an Otis Singletary Outstanding Senior Award. The Outstanding Senior Award recognizes one graduating male and one graduating female recipient for their demonstration of superior student involvement through leadership and service at the University of Kentucky throughout their undergraduate career. Areas of leadership involvement include, but are not limited to: publications and scholarship, student organizations, fine arts, athletics, and campus and community service.

Foster currently serves as vice president of student government. She is described as a passionate servant leader who advocates for those whose voices are not always heard. In addition to pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, Foster is earning a minor in mathematics and will complete the requirements for the Power and Energy certificate. After graduating, she will attend the University of California, Berkeley to pursue a master’s degree.

Next month, Foster will address the Class of 2018 at the May Commencement Ceremony that will include engineering graduates.
