The Lean Systems Program is merging with IR4TD!! We are currently in the process of combining offices for all program instructors and support staff in Suite 210/220 CRMS. This is an exciting time for IR4TD, the Lean Program is a valuable addition to our growing Institute and we are very excited about moving forward with them.
The Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship invited IR4TD to present at the Creative Cities Summit and the UKTECH10 demo recently.
We have added two English versions of the Nippon Steel publication of Mr. Futumura-san's face-to-face discussion with Dr. Saito.
The paper deadline for ISSM 6 has been extended to June 30th. If possible please submit your papers as soon as possible.
We would like to extend the sincerest congratulations to Professor Yuji Nakamura, an IR4TD trained reseacher, on his recent recognition from two seperate Japanese agencies as one of the most promising young researchers. He has received the Young Researcher Encouragement Award from the Japan Society of Microgravity and the Young Researcher Encouragement Award from the Combustion Society of Japan. Congratulations Professor Nakamura!
We would like to welcome Dr. Wageh Swelm who is a visiting researcher from Menoufia University, Egypt. Dr. Swelm will be working with us through July, 2009.
The College of Engineering, IR4TD, and Tohoku Institute of Fluid Science have created an Exchange Program for students and scholars.
IR4TD is sponsoring the International Symposium on Scale Modeling in Hawaii, in September of 2009.
