The Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Kentucky provides knowledge necessary for the mineral industries to serve the public in an economical, safe, and environmentally responsible manner. This is accomplished by the preparation of students for professional practice, the development of new knowledge through research, and the transfer of knowledge to industry.
