    Amy is a senior chemical engineering major from Lexington, Kentucky. She is a Singletary Scholar and a member of the Lewis Honors College. She serves as the Engineering Student Council Representative for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, acts as a STEM Group Leader for the #IAmAWomanInSTEM movement, participates as a member of the Society of Women Engineers and volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House Family Room in the Kentucky Children's Hospital. She is an active member of her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, and currently serves as the Vice President of Event Planning. Amy has also conducted undergraduate research in the UK Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, specifically focusing on oncogenic mutations. During her summers, she studied renewable energy topics abroad in Pamplona, Spain and worked as a microbiology intern at Piramal Pharma Solutions. Amy continues to stay busy during the year as a College of Engineering Outreach Ambassador by visiting local schools to increase interest in STEM education. In her spare time Amy enjoys reading, arts and crafts, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
