Bill Cooper has been a member of the True Lean Systems Group since 2000. Having worked in non-Lean engineering and manufacturing environments for 19 years, he jumped at the opportunity to join the True Lean team while earning his M.S. degree in Engineering Management. During his 19-plus year tenure with the University, Bill has worked as a member of the UK instructional development team on the creation, delivery, and continuous improvement of True Lean Certification and other offerings. His primary focus is the provision of laboratory-based simulations and other portable, hands-on activities that complement classroom presentations by enabling students to bring the TPS principles they have just learned to life as they engage in practicing and applying them in safe, team-based learning environments. Bill also is part of a team working to introduce True Lean™, and to coach problem solving within the management of UK Healthcare. He received his BS in electrical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institure of Technology, and his M.S. in engineering management from the University of Louisville. In 2011, Bill earned a Lean System Graduate Certificate from UK.
