About Us
The Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at the University of Kentucky combines two disciplines that utilize a deep understanding of the physical sciences to engineer innovative products and processes critical to technological advancement for our social well-being.
Materials Engineering (MSE) and Chemical Engineering (CHE) are separate and complementary degree programs that apply chemistry, physics, and mathematics to design products in diverse areas that dramatically impact our daily lives, including nanotechnology, manufacturing, energy, electronics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and environmental protection. Our graduates learn critical technical problem solving skills and have many opportunities to make a difference.
