Engineering Graduate Student Organizations

The College of Engineering has several graduate student specific students organizations in which to become involved. These include:

Engineering Graduate Student Lounge

A lounge area dedicated solely to College of Engineering graduate students is located in room 322 of the Center for Robotics and Manufacturing Systems building (CRMS). Entry can be gained through room 324 (kitchen). Access is restricted to active graduate students in the College of Engineering. The lounge is open 24/7. Please use your UK ID card to enter.

To request access, click here.

The lounge gives graduate students from all COE departments a place to relax and interact with each other on an informal basis. Graduate students are encouraged to socialize in the lounge. While you may read or study in the lounge, it is NOT intended as a quiet study room. The lounge is equipped with comfortable seating areas, café tables and chairs, a foosball table, large screen television, and a variety of board games. The adjacent kitchen includes a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and Keurig hot beverage machine. Bring your own mug and K-cup to brew coffee or tea.

Campus Recreation

The mission of Campus Recreation is to provide quality recreation and wellness programs and services for the campus community that support student success and promote healthy lifestyles.  Campus Recreation can also be found on Facebook (facebook.com/UKCampusRec) and Twitter (@ukcampusrec). Visit Campus Recreation’s web site for more information.

UK Athletics

The University of Kentucky sponsors 22 Division-1 varsity athletic teams. Anyone who is a full-time student (9 credit hours graduate) and has a valid UK Student ID is eligible for a student ticket. Your athletics fee must also be paid with your tuition each semester.

UK Students receive free admissions to all regular-season home sporting events (with the exception of football and men’s basketball) with a valid UK Student ID. Students may sit in the general admission student areas for each of these events based on availability. Click here for additional information on how to obtain a student ticket.
