Materials engineering doctoral student Mike Detisch won two awards at the Imagine Membrane Conference in Horta, Portugal, in September.
Detisch received the European Membrane Society’s travel award and the best poster/research paper award. His paper explored magnetron sputtering-based composite polymer-metal membrane synthesis and applications to catalysis and separations. Detisch received the awards at a celebratory dinner on the final day of the conference.
Detisch is advised by UK Alumni Professor of Chemical Engineering Dibakar Bhattacharyya and William T. Bryan Professor of Materials Engineering and Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies John Balk. Bhattacharyya delivered a talk at the conference.
