Lignin (found in trees) is in paper, and we definitely use a lot of paper in life – from school/work papers, newspapers, to even paper towels and toilet paper! Be a pre-engineer at home by making fun, hands-on homemade paper cards from recycled paper in fun shapes (grab your cookie cutters!), and learn how engineers are involved in making paper. Your final paper cards may be used as gifts for someone special.
To following along with this exhibit, you will need:
- Old newspaper or recyclable white or colored paper (can use colored construction paper)
- Large cookie cutter
