Alonzo Allen retired from Toyota in 2013 after 25 years of service. His career at Toyota started as a Team Leader where he learned the fundamental skills of Standard Work, Job Instruction Training, and 8 Step Problem Solving. Alonzo advanced to Manager with responsibilities of production and new model introduction. He served as Toyota Executive on Loan as Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Technician Program. This role consisted of delivering a skilled workforce to Toyota by developing the needed fundamental technical skills and baseline TPS skills. Alonzo supported the training of the new Mississippi Toyota plant, assuring all members received the necessary training for a smooth start up and continued success. At Toyota, Alonzo served on the Corporate Contributions Committee, Chair of the Women’s Leadership Exchange Network, and the Diversity Action Council. Upon his retirement, Alonzo joined UK as a True Lean Instructor and Coach.
