Performance Appraisal Guidelines
Rate your team members for each of the items below using the following criteria:
Needs improvement – This person’s performance on the indicated item was a limited or minor contribution to what needed to be done. This person required other team members to tell them what to do most of the time. This person consistently missed team meetings. This person is not a team player and did not do their fair share. They avoided work when they could.
Satisfactory – This person’s performance on the indicated item was helpful but they needed direction from the other team members to make their contribution. This person showed some personal initiative but not consistently. This person attended most team meetings. This person barely did their fair share. They are not a team player and just did what they had to do.
Fully satisfactory – This person’s performance on the indicated item was necessary and they needed little direction from the other team members to make their contribution. This person showed some personal initiative and contributed some new and innovative ideas but not consistently. They were occasionally helpful to other team members. This person consistently attended team meetings and sometimes organized them. This person unquestionably did their fair share. They were excited about the project and a real team player.
Excellent - This person’s performance on the indicated item was critical to the success of the project. They took a leadership role helping the other team members make their contribution to the project. This person showed consistent personal initiative and contributed key new and innovative ideas on a regular basis. This person consistently attended team meetings, usually organized them, and regularly led the meetings. This person did much more than there fair share of the work. They had a great deal of enthusiasm and were a team leader.
Your evaluation of your team members will not affect their grade; it will only affect your grade. Thus give specific examples to support your team member ratings. Turn in your peer reviews separately from your final reports to me in my office.
