Nanoscale Engineering Certificate Program in the College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky was established in 2004 with a grant from the National Science Foundation. Additional financial support is provided by the College itself. The NECP is the first undergraduate certificate program in the nation for nanoscale engineering.

NECP is an integral part of UPoN; NECP Seminars and UPoN Colloquia overlap in two or three occasions in each semester to foster active participation by students.
