B.S. ChE.: Anna University, India. (2005)

Hari is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Kentucky. He received his Bachelors in Technology – Chemical Engineering from the AC College of Technology, Anna University, Chennai (one of the top ten institutions of technology in Asia). He did his under graduate summer research at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology – Madras (IIT-M) under Dr. S. Ramanathan. His work was an environmental engineering project “Electro Dialysis Reversal – Modeling and Optimization”. Next to research sports is his passion. Currently he plays for the University of Kentucky Cricket Club as an all rounder.

His current project in the laboratory deals with the synthesis and controlled growth of various hydrogel networks over biocompatible surfaces. Currently, he is working on the controlled spatial growth of polymeric networks over gold and silicon surfaces by microcontact printing followed by atom transfer radical polymerization. The hydrogel systems are characterized using atomic force microscopy, fourier transform infrared imaging and scanning electron microscopy.
