All test sessions are held at:

Red Cross Building
1450 Newtown Pike in Lexington

It is courteous to contact the test administrator before the day of the test to let them know if you are going to take a test.  I believe the exams are $15 for the ARRL administered test.  The WCARS tests are $10.

There is a new license study guide.  It is THE HAM RADIO LICENSE MANUAL, 2nd Edition, 2010.  It retails for $30 but we might be able to get it a little cheaper through a local source.  You don’t have to buy one to pass the test.  I have 1st edition copies to loan out as well.  I also have the manuals for upgrading your license to General or Amateur Extra.

Some places to practice for exams

If this is your first license, you should practice for the Technician's license.  You need to get 27 out of 35 correct to get a license.
