DESCRIPTION
Gas Sensing and Charge Transport Mechanisms in
Multiwalled Carbon NanoTubes
Highly ordered porous alumina
templates were fabricated by a two-step Anodization process of high purity
aluminum tape in a 0.3M Oxalic acid medium. Multi walled carbon nanotubes
(MWCNT) were grown in these templates using Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) by
Xylene pyrolysis at 700oC without the use of a catalyst. Post growth
characterization by Scanning Electron Microscopy revealed that the nanotubes
were aligned, open ended on both sides and walls were crystalline.
