- At the Engineering Tau Beta Pi Awards Banquet on April 14, 2009, Xiaolong Deng was named the Outstanding Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student and Prof. Ray LeBeau was named the Tau Beta Pi Outstanding Engineering Professor
- Trey Gilliam and Andrew Schloemer were awarded 2nd place in the Undergraduate Division of the AIAA Foundation Competition at the AIAA Region III Student Conference, April 11-12, 2008. This judging is based on both an oral presentation at the conference and a written paper submitted before the conference. The talk and paper were titled "Comptutational Investigation of Flows over Inflatable Airfoils". Congratulations!
- Dr. Raymond P. LeBeau won the ASME Outstanding Mechanical Engineering Faculty Award on April 17th, 2007.
- Daniel Reasor and Narendra Beliganur were both award winners in the Region III AIAA
Student Conference held at Notre Dame in South Bend, IN on March 30-31, 2007. Daniel was
awarded 2nd place in the Graduate Division, Paper/Presentation Competition with his paper
titled "Numerical Investigation of the Effects of Bumps on Inflatable Wing Profiles".
Narendra finished 3rd in the same category with his paper "Application of Evolutionary
Algorithm for Flow Control Optimizations".

Aeronautics and Astronautics at the AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, January

- Dr. Chih-Hao Chang received the 1st place award for his picture at the 31th Dayton-Cincinnati Aerospace Science Symposium, Dayton, OH, 2006.

- V. V. Sunil Vytla received the best paper award for his presentation at the 30th Dayton-Cincinnati Aerospace Science Symposium, Dayton, OH, 2005.
- Dr. Raymond P. LeBeau received the best paper award for his presentation at the 30th Dayton-Cincinnati Aerospace Science Symposium, Dayton, OH, 2005.
- Yildirim Bora Suzen won the best paper award in the Computational Fluid Dynamic category at the 27th Dayton-Cincinnati AIAA Aerospace Science Symposium, March 7, 2002.
- Darsh Ranjan won the best student paper award at the 3rd International Symposium on Computational technologies for Fluid/Thermal/Chemical System with Industrial Applications, Atlanta, GA, 2001.
- Thomas Hauser, Raymond LeBeau and George Huang were the co-winners of the SC2000 Gordon Bell Prize, honorable mention, price/performance category , "High-cost CFD on a low-cost cluster."
- Guohua Xiong received the best paper award for his presentation at the 24th Dayton-Cincinnati Aerospace Science Symposium, Dayton, OH, 1999.
- George Huang received the1999 outstanding teacher award, College of Engineering, University of Kentucky.
- George Huang was the co-winner of the 1998 NASA software of the.year award, honorable mention, "Overset Tools for CFD Analysis."
