I-DEAS (Integrated Design Engineering  Analysis   Software  is  an integrated package of mechanical engineering software tools. This software  was  designed   to   facilitate   a concurrent  engineering approach  to  mechanical engineering product design and analysis. It allows different groups  in  a company to share design geometry and exchange information freely for a variety of applications.
I-DEAS is made up from a number of application software modules called   "Application" ,  each  subdivided  further  into   "Task" ,  all executed from a common menu and sharing a common database. Those applications are :

Pro/ENGINEER is a package for designing assemblies, parts, and drawings collectively and refered them as "objects". Parts are created by sketching the basic form of the part to produce the part's "base feature". The collection of parts and sub-assemblies is called assembly. And the final annotated drawing is created by putting together the parts and assemblies.
