VAC Acoustic Toolbox software now available

The newest version of VAC Acoustic Toolbox software has been released. The VAC Toolbox is free to all VAC members. The newest version includes the following toolbox programs:

1. Sound Radiation Toolbox, using the Rayleigh integral and high frequency approximation methods.

2. Aries, a transmission matrix program for intake and exhaust system modeling.

3. Decomposition Toolbox, used to calculate incident power, transmitted power and transmission loss of mufflers and systems

4. Two Source Method Toolbox, used to calculate experimental transmission loss using the two source method.

5. Muffler Transmission and Insertion Loss Toolbox, used to obtain transmission and insertion loss from BEM and FEM models using the three point, four pole, and improved four pole methods.

6. Sound Power Toolbox, used to calculate the sound power based on ISO 3744 and ISO 3745 standards using sound pressure measurement or calculation files


7. A-Weighting Toolbox, used to convert sound pressure or power from engineering units to dB and also from dB to dBA.

8. Inverse Sound Pressure Toolbox, to convert sound pressure measurement files into SYSNOISE input sound pressure files.
