Vicki Smith





Vicki’s 25-year multi-faceted Toyota career spanned Engineering, Manufacturing, Tool & Die, New Model Introduction, and Production Control.   Beginning her Toyota career in Stamping, Vicki’s focus was on developing manufacturing systems and processes, capacity planning and management, leading cost reduction initiatives, safety, quality, and productivity improvements as well as New Model introduction.  

Her professional rotations next took her to Body Weld where Vicki's concentration was on improving quality in the department.  Due to her leadership, teamwork & collaboration capabilities, Vicki was selected to lead the J.D. Power quality improvement team for the plant, focusing on the exterior fit and function.  She then was selected to lead Body Weld’s North America Self-Reliance team for Quality.

Vicki’s next rotation was to Production Control where was responsible for the delivery and quality of over 10 million parts, sub-assemblies, and service parts to Toyota’s North American affiliates and suppliers.  She also was responsible for leading the Kentucky plant’s On-Time Delivery initiative and plant-wide production planning and execution. 

During her career at Toyota, Vicki was the Body Operations Diversity Leader, Vice-Chair for the Women’s Leadership Exchange Network, and served as Secretary and Board Member of the Girl Scouts of America, Bluegrass.
