Women in Engineering Wing

In the field of engineering, women are still the minority, so we make sure our female students have a strong community in the UK College of Engineering. The Engineering Living Learning Program (ELLP) has launched the Women in Engineering (WiE) Wing. All first-year women in the College of Engineering are invited to live together in the WiE hallway of Pigman Hall.

All first-year women in the College of Engineering that apply to the ELLP will automatically receive room selection within the WiE Wing. Any first-year women choosing to opt out of the Women in Engineering Wing should email the Director of the Engineering Living Learning Program at engr.llp@uky.edu.

Residents of the WiE Wing will enjoy the benefits of living in the ELLP while also having special access to events with female-led engineering student organizations including the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the Association for Computing Machinery for Women and Phi Sigma Rho Sorority. All women engineering students are also invited to the SWE Summer Sleepover, the WiE Saturday Brunch and WiE Camp.

The Women in Engineering Wing will also be led by Peer Mentors who serve as Coordinators of the Women in Engineering Wing.
