Networking and Recruiting Events
College of Engineering Career Connections, September 8-11, 2020
Employer representatives volunteer their time to review resumes, conduct practice interviews, simulate virtual networking and critique LinkedIn profiles in one on one meetings with students. This is excellent preparation for the career fair, and a way to network with potential employers in a casual setting. Sign ups for this event will go live in August 2020.
Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair, September 22, 2020, noon to 4 pm
The largest recruiting event at UK typically attracts up to 150 employers and 1,100 students who can network to find co-op, intern, or full-time positions. Many employers stay over to conduct one on one interviews soon after. You can research employers using UK's career management system, Handshake (uky.joinhandshake.com), which you have access to with your link blue ID and password. The fair will take place virtually via Handshake, and you can sign up for 1:1 slots with employers of your choice in early September.
Career Fair Prep Events
Engineering Resume Review/Interview Practice
Starting August 3, one Career Development Team member will be on campus during business hours on the 3rd Floor of F. Paul Anderson Tower. However, because our offices are too small to ensure physical distancing, we prefer to meet by zoom or phone appointment, which you can schedule via Handshake. If you drop in with an urgent question or need, we can have you use an interview room to zoom with us from next door.
Career Fair Prep Seminars
To prepare for the fall career events, you should attend one of our 45 minute career fair prep seminars. The times and location will be published in August.
