The University of Kentucky’s Leadership Advancement (UKLA) is a weekend camp organized by Triangle Fraternity and put on by the entirety of the College of Engineering student body. The goal of UKLA is to get top incoming freshman off and running before they get to campus, and to emerge as leaders within their class. After having been accepted to college, the question you should be asking is “what’s next?” Staying ahead of the game and becoming a leader is key for both the extent of your enjoyment in college, and your growth as an engineer. Let’s be honest, engineers are widely viewed as nerds with little communication or social skills. Give us a chance to prove this profile can be very wrong, and show you how to be the outgoing type of engineer with the leadership skills for which every company is searching.
These leadership skills as well as a head start on the best kept secrets and all the advantages of UK and its campus will be available to you if you choose to attend UKLA. The counselors are students; the directors are students; the volunteers are students; and as current students we have been there before and can help you with what you need to know to succeed here in college. As a community we are inviting you to join us in the most beneficial weekend of your college years.
The 2009 camp will run August 7th-9th. The deadline to register was July 4th.
