University of Kentucky Solar Car Team is building a vehicle to compete in the 2010 North American Solar Challenge — and we need your support! A large portion of the expense in building a solar car comes from the solar cells themselves. Each cell must be purchased, wired and weatherproofed for use on the car, at a cost of $50 per cell. The car will require an array of 2132 cells to power itself—a substantial cost for the team.

The UK Solar Car Team is offering the opportunity for community members to support the project by “adopting” cells. For a tax-deductible contribution of $50 per cell, you will receive:
