I am pleased to welcome you to research at the University of Kentucky College of Engineering.
Research institutions are uniquely equipped to pursue technical and theoretical work that can have a lasting impact on the community at large. With over 400 ongoing research projects overseen by our more than 130 faculty members, the College of Engineering is able to have a direct impact on life in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the United States and the world.
Our faculty compete on the national and international level for awards. In today’s increasingly interconnected academic environment, they often win large, multi-investigator awards that require multi-disciplinary research teams. We see them participating in research around the globe, visiting locations as diverse as China, Venice and Honduras, and working with a wide variety of partners in industry.
The College of Engineering is playing a critical role in UK’s quest to become a top 20 research university. Thanks to the efforts of our talented faculty, staff and students, the College of Engineering is a dynamic and ever-changing center of innovation seeking to discover the world of tomorrow.
