SEAM Activities

August

Freshmen enjoy a day of team building and getting to know one another at the Life Adventure Center in Versailles, Ky.

Sophomores sign disclosure agreements and trek to Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati.  After a traditional welcome lunch of fabulous barbecue from Montgomery Inn, they spend the rest of the day immersed in supply chain research.

SEAM students annually participate in UK FUSION a one day service event during KWeek festivities.  UK FUSION gives all UK students, faculty and staff an opportunity to begin their school year in a positive way by serving at a local non-profit agency or area neighborhood residence.  Students in this photo are contributing to Seedleaf.   Seedleaf nourishes communities by: growing, cooking, sharing, and recycling food to increase the amount, affordability, nutritional value, and sustainability of food available to people at risk of hunger in central Kentucky.

September thru November

Between the thoroughbred sales and the beginning of the October meet, SEAM students enjoy an outing at Keeneland.

SEAM students at “Coffee Talks,”   are challenged to prepare and then pitch one of nine listed products.  “I was very impressed by the creativity of your students during the pitch contest, and enjoyed talking with them throughout the evening.” – Nick Such

Katie Beaven (pictured, bottom row far left) and Vanessa Holloway (pictured, bottom row far right) join the German and Engineering Program in Karlsruhe with a visit to L’Oreal. SEAM scholars are encouraged to enjoy international experiences.
