Overview

This course will present an introductory overview of the key topics in sustainability for practicing engineers including introducing participants to the key principles and tools involved in designing and analyzing manufacturing processes for sustainability and environmental impacts. Topics covered will encompass environmental, social, energy, management, and ethical issues in sustainability. In addition this course will provide an overview of various sustainability Indices.

Instructor

Dr. Jeffrey Seay

Dr. Seay is Assistant Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Kentucky and a licensed Professional Engineer. He is also Vice-Chair of the AIChE Sustainable Engineering Forum and active in the Engineers Forum on Sustainability. Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, Dr. Seay spent 12 years in the chemical process industry for both consulting and manufacturing companies.

Earn PDH and CEU

Attendees will earn 7 Professional Development Hours (PDH) for participating in this course. In addition, attendees can earn .75 CEU with a certificate from the University of Kentucky. Please contact Cassandra Rogers.

If you cannot attend after registering, you may designate a substitute attendee. A full refund will be provided for cancellations received by March 1st. Cancellations after this date will be subject to a $50 administration fee.
