			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 14, 2011) — </strong>The <a href="../">Power and Energy Institute of Kentucky (PEIK)</a> at the University of Kentucky has received $1.5 million from the U.S. Department of Energy to train undergraduate and graduate level engineering students in manufacturing efficiency to help them become the nation&#8217;s next generation of industrial energy efficiency experts. UK is one of 24 universities in 23 states to receive a portion of the $30 million that was issued. UK will receive the grant over the course of five years.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h4>Una decena de estudiantes norteamericanos, que participan en el  curso sobre Energías Renovables que imparte por primera vez el Colegio  de Ingenieros Industriales de Navarra, conocieron ayer las instalaciones  del parque solar de Villafranca, promovido por la firma Parques Solares  de Navarra.</h4>
<p>Responsables de esta empresa recibieron a los estudiantes, que  recorrieron el recinto &#8220;del mayor parque solar de concentración del  mundo, con 12 MW nominales&#8221;, según destaca la compañía en un comunicado.  Además, también incluye instalaciones solares de tecnología  convencional, ocupando una superficie total de un millón de metros  cuadrados de terreno.</p>

(July 13, 2010) -</strong> Energy service provider E.ON, parent company of E.ON U.S., announced today that it will donate $2 million to the <a href="../../">University of Kentucky College of Engineering</a> to help in funding the recently announced <a href="../../ece/PowerandEnergyInstituteofKetnucky.html">Power and Energy Institute of Kentucky (PEIK)</a>.  Specifically, the gift will endow scholarships for the program and fund  an annual study abroad program to study the power grids in Germany.</p>

<p>In a  drive to meet that need, the U.S. Department of Energy has awarded UK  nearly $2.5 million to help educate the next generation of power  engineers.</p>
