Crounse Hall and the Crisp Building
At 53,000 square feet, Crounse Hall houses labs and classroom space for chemical and mechanical engineering. You’ll spend many hours here in this building, learning the fundamentals of your engineering degree. Just next door is the awardwinning Crisp Building, which houses UK Paducah administrative offices.
Fred Paxton Engineering Research Wing
The new $2.6 million project provides outstanding research facilities for UK Paducah students. The Paxton Wing is part of the 75,000-square-feet Emerging Technology Center, which offers lab and classroom space in advanced engineering technology, including mechatronics, robotics, rapid prototyping and metrology.
In the Fred Paxton Research Wing, Dr. Vincent Capece and his students utilize the UK Paducah research compressor to enhance jet engine performance. In addition, he collaborates with Dr. John Baker on a multidisciplinary active vibration control research project using the compressor’s unique capabilities. “Only a handful of universities in the U.S. have something of this size and quality,” he says. “Even as a freshman, there are many ways to join in on research.”
