Perfect
record for AIChE
Student chapter
has received 'Outstanding' award every year since founding
The CME students of the University
of Kentucky's student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical
Engineers (AIChE) in Paducah have received the Institute's Outstanding
Chapter Award for 2005-2006. This is the fifth consecutive Outstanding
Chapter Award for the Paducah chapter since its establishment five years
ago.
AIChE honors the top 15 percent of all student chapters nationally each
year with the Outstanding Chapter designation. The top chapters are
selected based on their local and national membership levels; the quality
of their meetings, with technical, social, career development, and professional
development themes; outreach activities; and service to the University
and community. In addition, these students served as co-hosts for the
AIChE Annual Student Conference in 2005. Lindsey M. Jackson (BSChE,
2006) served as chapter president for the 2005-2006 school year.
The student chapter will be recognized for its achievement at the AIChE
Annual Student Conference in San Francisco, California, this November.
These students will also seek to repeat the chapter's 2001 National
Championship performance in the Chem-E Car Competition at the conference.
