UK BEST (Building Engineering, Science and Technology)
June 2009 Summer Program
Description: This one week residential program provides a pre-engineering curriculum to students who
are interested in pursuing an engineering degree and who will contribute to the diversity of the educational
experience in the College of Engineering. This unique opportunity to gain pre-engineering academic skills
will prepare you for your junior and senior year of high school, as well as your college engineering career.
Additionally, you will get an inside view of the exceptional opportunities the College of Engineering at the
University of Kentucky holds as you preview life as a Wildcat. The UK BEST program is scheduled for June
2009. Course work is hands on problem solving and requires use of pre-calculus math, chemistry,
physics, English, engineering design, and leadership skills. Applicants are accepted for
UK BEST based on a comprehensive individualized assessment. Upon acceptance into UK BEST, students will
be required to complete and return an acceptance agreement and take a math assessment.
