Mission Statement
The Office for Informational Services and Technical Liaison (OISTL) was founded in 1978 as part of the Institute for Mining and Minerals Research at the University of Kentucky. OISTL joined the College of Engineering in 1994 and relocated their offices to the Mining and Mineral Resources Building.
OISTL provides coordinating support for technical education through short courses, seminars and conferences for the mineral, engineering, and environmental industries, and increases communication between the developers and potential users of new techniques and technologies. The group also provides support in planning, developing, and coordinating meetings and conferences for professional societies and associations. OISTL's programs have been approved for Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
