href="http://www.engr.uky.edu/alumni/hod/vijay-k-dhir/">Vijay Dhir</a>, distinguished professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and dean of UCLA&#8217;s Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, has been accorded the status of Honorary Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The distinction recognizes a lifetime of service to engineering or related fields and Dhir will formally receive the honor at ASME’s annual convention in November. Dhir received his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1972 and has been at UCLA since 1974.</p><p>Dhir is regarded as one of the world&#8217;s foremost authorities on heat transfer, as well as engineering education. A recipient of numerous awards, Dhir was inducted into the University of Kentucky’s Engineering Hall of Distinction in 2004.</p><p>The post <a
