June 11, 2020

The annual award recognizes faculty and graduate teaching assistants who demonstrate special dedication and outstanding performance in the classroom or laboratory.

Gabriel Dadi, associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and W.L. Raymond & R.E. Shaver Chair of Construction Engineering and Management, has received a 2020 UK Provost's Outstanding Teaching Award in the Regular and Special Title Series category.

The annual award recognizes faculty and graduate teaching assistants who demonstrate special dedication and outstanding performance in the classroom or laboratory. Recipients were selected via nomination and reviewed by a selection committee based in the Provost's Office of Faculty Advancement.

"The diversity of disciplines reflected in the Outstanding Teaching Award winners speaks to the breadth and depth of expertise that distinguishes the University of Kentucky," Provost David Blackwell said. "But, of course, no matter the discipline, each recipient shares something of lasting importance: the art of great teaching transcends any single discipline."

Dadi earned his bachelor's degree and Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky, as well as an MBA. He has taught at UK since 2013 and was honored as a UK Alumni Association "Great Teacher" in 2018.
