Vijay Dhir, distinguished professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and dean of UCLA’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, will receive an honorary doctorate of engineering degree from the University of Kentucky at the Graduate and Professional Commencement Ceremony at 9 A.M. on May 6th. Dhir received his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1972 and has been at UCLA since 1974.
Dhir is regarded as one of the world’s foremost authorities on heat transfer, as well as engineering education. A recipient of numerous awards, Dhir was inducted into the University of Kentucky’s Engineering Hall of Distinction in 2004.
