Six teams from the University of Kentucky IEEE Student Branch competed against over 1,400 teams worldwide in the 24-hour IEEEXtreme Programming Competition 5.0 on October 21-22, 2011.
IEEEXtreme is an innovative global online competition in which a team of IEEE Student Branch members compete in a 24-hour time span to test their collective coding expertise simultaneously against other student programmers around the world.
All UK teams had at least 2 problems correctly submitted, ranging in the upper third of all teams worldwide. The three best teams scored on place 167 (Team AlpherBeterGammer), place 105 (Team SoccerMoms) place 90 (Team ZarroBugs)
For the competition, teams had to solve 15 problems. The problems were released at different times starting with the first one at 8pm on Friday and the last one being released around 5 pm on Saturday.
The other UK teams were theDontCares, AbstractDistract, and Photographers.
