A paper authored by civil engineering Adjunct Professor Wayne Karem and Professors Michael Kalinski and Donn Hancher has been selected to receive the Outstanding Paper Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities.
The paper, “Settlement of Mine Spoil Fill from Water Infiltration: Case Study in Eastern Kentucky,” was part of Dr. Karem’s Ph.D. work under the direction of Professors Kalinski and Hancher.
An announcement will appear in the November/December issue of the publication in the Editor’s Note column by editor Ken Carper.
