Student Organizations
Participation in student organizations provides students the opportunity
to enhance their academic experience. This involvement allows students
to acquire valuable leadership, communication, and organizational skills,
sharpen problem solving and decision making skills, and learn to work
as a member of a team. Activities including field trips, seminars/lectures
by distinguished engineers, and trips to regional and national professional
society meetings. These organizations include Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta
Pi honor societies; and student chapters of the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics,
Society of Automotive Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers,
National Society of Black Engineers, and Society of Women Engineers
professional societies.
