Positions in Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for openings for tenured/tenure‐track faculty positions at the Lexington campus for Fall 2010. These positions require a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline and a commitment to excellence in research, teaching and professional service. Preference will be given to those at the assistant and associate professor ranks, and to those in the areas of sustainability (sustainable product design, sustainable materials, sustainable manufacturing), energy and energy systems, fluid mechanics (CFD and experimental fluids), computational mechanics and systems design, who can complement existing strengths in the department. Anderson Building with state of the art computational facilities, research labs and classrooms. Opportunities for multi‐disciplinary research exist with a number of college‐affiliated centers and institutes. The Lexington area boasts a cost of living below the national average and was recently rated by Forbes as 5th among the best places for business and careers.
