The Fifth International Symposium on Scale Modeling (ISSM-V) is the latest in a successful series of meetings that began in 1988 by Dr. Richard Emori. The first meeting was held in Toyo, Japan (1988, ISSM-I), followed by Lexington, Kentucky (1997, ISSM-II), Nagoya, Japan (2000, ISSM-III), and Cleveland, Ohio (2003, ISSM-IV). The objective of this Symposium is to bring together researchers from diverse background and catalyze cross-disciplinary interaction among them to further advance the science (and art) of scale modeling. Also, the symposium provides a venue for the academic community to meet and discuss their work with participants from industry and government. This Symposium will have a broad scope and all aspects of scale modeling/scaling, from both a scientific point of view (which include contributions from the fields of physics, biology, chemistry, and engineering), and also an industrial perspective. The Symposium will encourage new cooperation among international participants.

More information can be found at: http://www.cis.ac.jp/outline/gakucho/popup/issm/index.html
Conference details, housing and registration information, maps and local information will be posed to the web site as it becomes available.
