SEL Fall 2009 Open House
Wednesday, November 4th, the Shaver Engineering Library was open, but a little more entertaining than usual. With help from our sponsors, we had four video games available for engineering students to play. Provided by David Applegate from GameStop, students were able to play from 11-4. IEEE rep Barry Holquist was also on hand to talk about IEEE, Explore, student membership and hand out giveaways.
Pizza Hut delivered pizzas provided by UK Libraries around noon and 3 PM to hungry crowds of student and faculty.
Jeff “Podge” Rion helped temendously with tech support issues as did Daniel Naas (Fine Arts Library). A big “Thank You” to COE IT and WTYL AV departments who provided hardware at the last minute. A special thank you to former SEL student assistant Brandon Daniels who took a day off from work to also help with the event. Brandon also designed the posters for the event.
