Disseminates information and addresses topics of interest and
concern to College of Engineering staff.
Poses special issues or projects to the Council for consideration
and action.
Co-Chair: Elected by Council members
from within its membership for a one-year term. May be re-elected for
subsequent terms.
Role of the Co-chair includes but is not limited to:
Notifies Council members of upcoming meetings.
Solicits agenda items from Council members and/or College of Engineering
staff.
Distributes agenda to Council members.
Selects council member to record meeting minutes.
Distributes minutes among Council members for review and approval.
Distributes approved minutes to all COE staff via electronic mail
or Council web page.
Updates Council web page when appropriate.
Brings before the council for review, discussion and appropriate
action special issues and/or proposals for special projects.
Forms committee/project teams from among Council members to address
special issues or undertake approved special projects.
Calls meetings on special issues to be addressed by the Council
(examples, annual pay raise recommendations to Dean; employee evaluation
procedures; presidential search position papers, etc) . These special
meetings are normally not attended by the Chair (Dean).
Records minutes of special meetings.
Sends Council recommendations and/or reports on special issues
to appropriate administrative personnel (example: recommendations
on annual pay raise to Dean).
Represents the College of Engineering at meetings of Sector and/or
University level staff representative groups as requested.
Reports to Council and College staff on the proceedings of Sector
and University level staff representative groups.
