General Information
Construct a paper airplane on site and throw it through a hula hoop hung from the ceiling. Available materials to be provided are 8.5″ x 11″ sheets of paper, tape, and safety scissors. Books about paper airplane construction will also be available.
Rules and Judging
- Airplanes are to be constructed by the contestant at the contest site from the provided materials.
- The contestant must throw the plane through a hoop from a fi xed distance (or beyond).
- The distance required is age dependent, with younger participants making shorter throws.
- Each contestant may have three attempts with a given plane.
- Each contestant may build up to three planes, subject to crowd conditions.
- The contest will be open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Prizes
All contestants will be allowed to keep their plane. Successful contestants will receive a small prize, to be announced. Only one prize will be awarded per contestant even with multiple successful throws.
