Paper Airplane Contest
Objective:
Construct a paper airplane on site and throw it throw a hula hoop hung
from the ceiling. Available materials to be provided are 8.5" x 11" sheets of paper, tape, and safety scissors. Books about paper airplane construction will also be available.
Rules:
- Airplanes are to be constructed by the contestant at the contest
site from the provided materials.
- To receive a small prize, the contestant must throw the plane
through a hoop from a fixed distance (or beyond).
- The distance required is age dependent, with younger participants
making shorter throws.
- Each contestant may have three attempts with a given plane.
- Each contestant may build up to three planes, subject to crowd conditions.
- Each contestant may receive only one small prize even with multiple
successful throws.
- All contestants are allowed to keep the airplanes they have constructed.
- The contest will be open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m
