Jayla McCoy is from Cleveland, Ohio and is majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. At UK, in addition to being a Student Ambassador for the College of Engineering, Jayla is an Ambassador for the Lewis Honors College, a Resident Advisor, as well as a UK 101 Peer Instructor. Jayla currently serves as the Vice President and Parliamentarian for the National Society of Black Engineers and has been a K Crew leader. She is also an active member of Iota Sigma Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Finally, she is the Communications Co-Chair for Omicron Delta Kappa, one of the four National Honor Societies on campus. She is in the Scholars in Engineering and Management (SEAM) honors pathway in the Lewis Honors College and plans to pursue an MBA one day. For the Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 term, she had the opportunity to work two rotations with GE Appliances at the headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. When she has free time, Jayla enjoys going to the movies, trying new restaurants, going to the mall, and watching Netflix!
