Two different Majors for UndergraduatesThe disciplines of Chemical and Materials Engineering have long traditions contributing to key technological advances. This stems from their ability to combine scientific principles with the art of engineering design. Our academic programs are based on fundamental understanding of chemical activity, physical structure, mass transport, thermodynamics, kinetics, processing, characterization, mathematical modeling, and design. Our graduates demonstrate the ability to creatively apply their broad knowledge in solving a variety of societal problems, and become respected scientists and engineers in their chosen field. Materials engineers are an integral part of today's economy and environment. These engineers apply basic science to develop innovative metal alloys, strong ceramics, versatile polymers and modern electronic materials, which are apart of our everyday lives.
