Students and faculty from the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering were honored at the annual Tau Beta Pi Awards Banquet held on April 12, 2011.
Chemical Engineering Awards:
AIChE Outstanding Senior – Michael Abney
AIChE Outstanding Junior – Anastasia Kruse
Outstanding Chemical Engineering Senior – Chelsie Bottom
Outstanding Chemical Engineering Junior – Austin Isner
Omega Chi Epsilon Outstanding Senior – Joseph Tarantino
Outstanding Chemical Engineering Professor – Dr. Kim Anderson
Materials Engineering Awards:
ASM Bluegrass Chapter Scholarships – Whitney Epperson; Amber Gay
Outstanding Materials Engineering Senior – Michael Collier
Outstanding Materials Engineering Professor – Dr. John Balk
Two undergraduates were the recipients of College-wide awards. Whitney Epperson (materials engineering) received the College of Engineering Alumni Association Scholarship, and Kevin Baldridge (chemical engineering) was named the Tau Beta Pi Most Outstanding Senior.
In addition, two faculty were recognized at the banquet with College-wide awards. Prof. Doug Kalika was named the Tau Beta Pi Most Outstanding Professor for 2010-2011, while Prof. Kimberly Anderson was named the recipient of the College of Engineering Lutes Award for Outstanding Teaching.
