Graduate Program The Department provides an intellectually stimulating atmosphere in which to engage in research and advanced study. The graduate program offers the Master of Science in Civil Engineering, the Master of Civil Engineering, and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in civil engineering. Masters students can pursue either a thesis or non thesis option, the later requiring a written engineering report. Financial support in the form of teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and fellowships are available and are awarded on a competitive basis. Graduate students have the opportunity to work on a number of innovative projects directly with faculty widely recognized as experts in their respective fields. Graduate specialization is offered in civil engineering materials, construction engineering and management, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydrosystems engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, and water resources engineering. CE Graduate Fellowships The University of Kentucky Civil Engineering Department is accepting applications for Fellowships. Priority will be given to outstanding Ph.D. level students. All applications for admission must be sent directly to the
UK Graduate School.
